We combined the computer-carrying capacity of our Padded Computer Bag with the sleek design of our Original Briefcase for a tool that does the job no matter where your work takes you.
For decades, our legendary oil finish Tin Cloth has excelled at sheltering foresters, miners and sportsmen from wet, abusive conditions – so you can be assured your gear will be well-protected in all your travels. The canvas duck from British Millerain is thoroughly saturated with our oil finish wax, creating a barrier that keeps rain, snow and mud on the outside, where it belongs. Tin Cloth’s tight weave has made its resistance to abrasion and tears legendary, making it the ideal material for a lighter-weight bag that withstands the tests of time and mileage. The leather handles are cut, burnished and edge-dyed in our Seattle factory from Bridle Leather hides vegetable-tanned by Pennsylvania’s iconic Wickett & Craig. Each hide is slowly steeped in a special bark-tannin solution, with tallows and waxes “hot-stuffed” into it during the final stages. This eco-friendly tanning process transforms cowhide into durable, pliable leather suitable for horse tack, saddlery, as well as Filson briefcases. With virtually indestructible, solid brass zippers from YKK® and heavy-duty, cotton-wrapped polyester thread tying it all together, this briefcase is built for decades of faithful service.
While toughness and durability were prime considerations when engineering our 24-Hour Briefcase, convenience and utility are equally important. The interior is fully-lined with dry finish Tin Cloth and features padded laptop divider that protects a laptop up to 15”, as well as two stow pockets to keep accessories organized. The dual external pockets contain a zippered security pocket and a slotted utility pocket, with an open stow pocket behind each – extremely handy for phones, boarding passes or other items that require quick access. The rear panel features a full-width stow pocket as well as a trolley strap that slides over the handles of rolling luggage, to keep your hands free and lighten your load. The removable, adjustable shoulder strap is made with flexible 2”-wide cotton webbing that conforms to the shape of your shoulder for maximum comfort. The double-layer bottom and custom sand-cast, solid brass hardware are further examples of how we thought of everything when we created this bag.
